What is it with March?

I think this blog is becoming more of a "I'll update at some point once a year, but only in March".  Seriously, why can't I get my sh!t together?! Have I really become so scatter-brained that I can't even finish a post?! Anyways, since we last met I've done a few things.  I ran my first half marathon (the Disney Princess Half) with my cousin and friend from work.  It wasn't pretty, but I finished.  Just getting there was a task in itself.  Hubby and family didn't want me to go.  I think it was the idea of them having to fend for themselves that scared them.  They did manage and sweet hub even told me that he realized he can't do it without me.  The house is still looking like WW3 came in and conquered.  I swear, I have no time for anything around the house.  I did manage to do some crafts in the last year (made an awesome sunburst mirror and wall hanging).  My plans for the next few weekends is to paint at least 1 room.  Oh, and clear out some crap-ola from the house.  If I was witty enough, this could be a hilarious blog, but alas, I am not. I'll just ramble a little as I go.  That's it for now.  Keep checking back for updates.  Who knows, maybe I'll get another post in before march 2014.

It's DONE!!!

So I finally did it.  I bit the bullet and signed up for my first 10k! I'm doing the Monument 10k in March.  There is no backing out now, otherwise I would've wasted $50 (30 for registration and 20 for the "technical" shirt).  Now I just have to start training for it.  I signed up under the 70- 75 minute wave to give me plenty of time to finish (but I plan on running it much faster).  Hopefully, this will be a nice start to my resolution of being able to run a half marathon early next year.

On the home front... My oldest is officially 7! Where did the time go?! She's such a big girl now, but she will always be my baby.  The house is still destroyed.  Slowly but surely, we'll get there.  I need to be a little better about keeping up with things.  Maybe I should write a schedule for cleaning?!

Welcome to the New Year

So I started last year (well in March) with a blog.  I got three posts in and then quit.  I just didn't have the time to commit to it. But it's now 2012 and I am beginning again.  So lets get a recap of last year, shall we?!

When we last spoke (wrote/read), I was waiting for my new niece to arrive. Well shes here.  Miss Amelia Michele (Millie) came into the world on March 24, 2011. She is beautiful and such a doll baby. I love her to pieces. Peres Ann finished her first year of school.  Now she's half way through with 1st grade and she'll be 7 next Monday! Seriously, where did the time go. Palmer is growing like a weed.  She's now 16 months and such a ham.  We finally got a nanny (love you Nanny Pat).  I couldn't make it through the day without her. My hair is slowly growing back.  My hubby still hates it, but as it grows out, he likes it more.

I've decided that in 2012 I'm going to only do resolutions for the house.  Each month I plan on doing 1 project for the house to slowly make it my own.  I created a pin board on pinterest specifically for this task.  For January I would like to paint the kitchen cabinets (black on bottom, white on top). I'm really tired of the "builder" style house.  I want a HOME! Oh, I did make 1 resolution for myself.  I have a friend who runs the Disney Princess half marathon every February.  I want to run it next year (2013) with her.  So I am giving myself 1 full year to train for it! I've never been much of a runner (me + running= sheer agony), but I figured it's a lofty goal and I'm going to try my darnedest to accomplish it..

Hooray for the Weekend

...It's Friday, Friday...gotta get down on Friday (thank you Rebecca Black for the intro) And on top of that- it 's gorgeous outside.  So what am I doing? Sitting at work.  It's been a very long week and I wish I was able to take off today (I was off unexpectedly on Monday).  Palmer has been sick all week with a kidney infection.  Poor little thing.  She is miserable and so is mommy.  I really wish I was able to be a stay-at-home-mom again.  Not just to be with les enfants during the week, but to keep up with everything.  The house is a disaster (closet especially, but I'll get to that).  I've not been able to do anything to keep it clean.  Peres' room was nice and neat until her friend came over and it was destroyed.  On Wednesday I came home to my side of the closet all over the floor.  Bruce Lee had kindly decided that the hanging rod looked better on the floor and my clothes made a comfy sleeping area.  I should have taken pictures, but I really don't want to remember how bad it was/is.  Yes, I said is.  The rod was bent so we can't hang it back up so everything is still piled on the floor.
I wanted to go and visit YaYa this weekend with the girls, but we have my hubby's brother and sister's engagement shower.  Hopefully I'll get to see her before Miss Millie gets here (although she can come any day now).

What's everyone's plan for the weekend? Maybe I'll get a chance to do some cleaning or something crafty.  I have a couple of ideas for some art. Oh, and I'll be kickin' in the front seat.

So you decided to come back?!

Well if you got through my first post and decided you wanted more, THANKS! Not much has happened over the last few days.  I got my hair cut, which is an endeavor in itself.  My husband and the rest of his family LOVE my hair long.  Supposedly it's my best feature (thanks hun, I guess my personality is crap!). But, it's a huge hassle to take care of.  It's really thick, curly and just a big pain in the you know what.  So a few months ago I decided to go from mid back to just above my shoulders (think Nicole Richie).
It was really cute, but still a pain to style.  It took me way too long to deal with it every morning so it always ended up in a ponytail.  Well, for the last few weeks I've been obsessing about Ginnifer Goodwin's haircut.  It's super cute and looked so easy to take care of.  So on Tuesday, I mossied on up to my stylist and showed her a pic and said "have at it". After about an hour and 7 inches later, I now have a super easy Pixie cut!  It literaly takes me 10 minutes to do in the morning.  Everyone at work LOVES it...BUT (and I specify a big but), my hubby hates it.  He really does not like short hair on girls.  I mean, seriously, it's just hair.  It will grow back.

We're also gearing up for Peres' first SPRING BREAK!! We plan on going to the great Republic of Maryland for a few days to see YaYa's new baby girl Amelia.  As of right now, she's not here yet, but she will be by then.  I'm so excited for my twin.  I'm also excited that she moved from Tampa to Haggerstown.  It's so much closer to us (although still not as close).  It will be a lot easier to say to Brandon "I'm taking the girls to see Larissa for the weekend". Peres is really excited to be closer to her YaYa too.

Welcome!

So one of my New Year's resolution was to start a blog...3 months later here I go.  I need an outlet from my everyday life, just something that will allow me to vent my feelings and frustrations without going to my husband all the time (as much as he likes to hear me talk, he can only take so much).  Here are a few things right now that I need to talk/vent about

In no particular order...
  • the need for a nanny.  With Peres going to school at 9 am and me having to be at work at 8:30, we need someone to get her on/off the bus.  Normally, that wouldn't be a problem to most people, but we have Palmer who needs to be taken care of during the day.  This has been a constant source of tension in my household the last couple of weeks.  We've met with some very lovely people, but for some reason or another, it just hasn't worked out.
  • money.  We need to win the Lotto ASAP! But doesn't everyone feel the same way.
  • time...enough said.
  • the house. My house is a DISASTER right now.  Between the 2 kids, me working full time Monday- Friday, Brandon working full time Tuesday- Saturday, the house has been torn apart.  Granted, we have too much stuff and not enough places to put things.  Time to do some spring cleaning.  Easier said than done!  Plus it doesn't help that I want to decorate BIG TIME. Well, redecorate if you can call it that.  When we bought our house, we didn't really have enough money to put towards furnishing our house the way I envisioned.  Fast forward 4 years and it looks like a mismatched bachelor pad.  I have so many things I would like to do, but not enough resources to get it done (please see above to money and time).
So there you have it folks. Welcome to my crazy world. Keep your hands inside the vehicle at all times and enjoy this crazy ride!
